Thank you so much for getting back to me. I can't remember how exactly I
found your site - I had googled 'Teheran Aliyah' and got pages of sites,
and clicked on 'Hadassah' and somehow I think through that I found my
way to your site, but I couldn't retrace my steps when I tried again
So I think my finding you was just good luck!
I am interested in the DVD (in English) and the map, but I couldn't find
anything to indicate the cost of this package. Can you let me know the
cost please, plus the cost of postage?
Stanislaus was my late husband - he died in 1985 of a sudden heart
attack at work. His parents were Abraham and Felicia Ritmajster of
Warsaw, where Stan was born on 1st February 1936. They escaped to Russia
at the beginning of the war and were captured and sent to a forced
labour camp in Uzbekistan.
His father was at first felling trees but later had to draw posters of
Stalin. When Stan left there in, I think, 1941, his parents were not in
time to see him go. They joined the Polish Army under General Anders
(within the Russian Army) and were in the first ground force that
entered Berlin. They were not reunited with Stan until 1948, and indeed,
I think they were not sure for two or more years whether or not he had
survived. Abe died of a sudden heart attack just eleven weeks before
Stan died. He had written a history of their wartime experiences in
Polish and then a translation in English. Felicia (Fela) died in January
2001. They were all in my thoughts and I just suddenly decided to google
Thank you again for replying. I look forward to hearing again from you.
With very best wishes
