my name is Piotr Trojański and I am an assistant professor at the Institute of History of the Pedagogical University of Cracow. My scientific research concerns the history of Polish Jews and especially Holocaust education. We have a partner agreement with the Beit Berl College in Kfar Saba and right now are organizing students visit to Israel (21-28 May 2013). A few of my students work as volunteers for the University Centre for Documentation of Deportations, Expulsions and Resettlements. The Centre collects interviews with eyewitnesses of history especially those who were send to Siberia during the Second War World. These interviews are being used for educational and scientific purposes.
Recently we watched “The Children of Teheran”, a film by Yehuda Kaveh, Dawid Tour and Dalia Guttman. This film made a huge impression on us and became an inspiration for us to do an educational project about the fate of a group of Polish Jewish children, who were evacuated from the Soviet Union to Iran and finally reached Palestine in 1943. The main goal of this project is to inform Polish students about Teheran Children’s unique experiences. Thus we are wondering if it would be possible during our visit in Israel to meet a few of them who still live in Israel. We would be grateful for any help you can provide us in establishing contact with them.
I look forward to hearing from you,
With best Regards
